COMMON WEBSITE PROBLEMS

THERE ARE NUMEROUS THINGS THAN CAN HAVE AN IMPACT ON YOUR ONLINE PRESENCE

Is this your first website, or have you being relying solely on social media? We can guide you through exactly what we think you'll need, and answer any questions as simply as we can - we don't know your business and don't expect you to know about website development.
Do you have a website, but need a new one? Usually a website is recommended to be changed every 3-5 years. With more modern websites this can usually be extended with more of a revamp than a redesign, but this is down to the base theme/template and whats possible with it.
Does your site work on laptop, desktop and mobile? Mobile viewers account for about 50% of website visitors so it's important that visitors can easily view and navigate your website.
Do you know how to update your website or add new content? It may be a case you were never shown how to do it, or maybe you have lost your access, or there mightn't even be a proper process in place to do this.We develop CMS (Content Management System) websites using WordPress. This is one of the easiest websites to work with once gone live, but of course once done you can book time with us for any content changes or additions.
Have your domain name but you don't know what to do next? It's a lot for a business to do when it's not their area, and they should really be concentrating on their business and not worrying about how to do what.Create hosting, add emails, put backup solution in place, build your website, update the front and backend, update the server components, restore the site if it breaks. There is a lot to a website once you have one, and having a technical partner can take care of all of this.
Do you have a new(ish) website but your developer has left you hanging and you have some questions need answering or some tweaks you want doing? If its a modern and good theme it mightn't need a redesign.
If you were a customer coming to your website, would you be impressed or move on to look at another one? Is content is easy to navigate and find? Are you asked the same questions regularly - have you put these in a FAQ page? Are your services and prices kept up to date?
Security of the browser is more important than it used to be. Previously it was about protecting user info, but even if you don't deal with any data its about impression as not all visitors will understand it has no baring on them, all they see is "Not secure" and are afraid to proceed. Also, search engines like Google and BING rank sites with SSL higher.
Are your URLs something like www.yourdomainnam.com/wp/P?=9172 or www.yourdomainnam.com/aboutIt's important for search engines, and for displaying long URLs.
Is your website fast? This can lose customers who wont wait, and also search engines rank based on speed. There are many factors that can contribute to this; hosting, image size, WordPress theme, site not optimised, plugins, backend not kept updated. Theres a lot to it but if kept on top of it and invested in a little it can greatly improve things.
Are your contact details easily accessible, Contact link in menu, email and phone at top of page when user lands, again having these details in the footer. These days website visitors are very impatient and if they can't find your contact details easily they will leave.
Do all your pages have the menu at the top (or the side). Are the page names in the menu obvious what they are. Does your menu follow with the page as the visitors scrolls.
Do all your pages have a consistent header and footer. Are your brand colours brought through the website, or a consistent colour through the website?
Do you use an email like john.b.murphy1982@outlook.com?Wouldn't john.murphy@yourdomainname.com look better, easier to remember and type, and most of all it gets your business name out there in peoples minds.
Is your website still showing special offers or events from months and years ago? This will give visitors the impression that you are no longer in business. Refreshing things also gives opportunities to post links to social media.
If your blogs show dates posted, are they from years ago? This can make visitors and search engines think you are no longer in business. If you don't have time or content to add new blogs, you can update the date posted to a more recent date. But new blogs gives opportunities to post new links to social media, to bring users to the website.
If you are using a personal Facebook page for your business its only a matter of time before Facebook remove it. It also doesn't give professional look especially if you also post personal things. It also lacks branding and reminding the customer about your business.
Do you have your social media accounts linked in your menu, footer and contact page? People like to see your are a legit business and this helps with regular activity on social media. Have you picked your vanity URLs? Do you have your website linked on your social accounts?
This is as important as your website, it helps to rank your site in search results, and gives people a good impression on your business. Depending on your business you can also ask previous customers for reviews, which again helps in ranking and visitor confidence.
